Rebbe Stories on Video

Rabin, Begin, and The Rebbe

Yitchok Rabin, Prime Minister of Israel, recalls his visit to the Rebbe as Israel's Ambassador to the United States in 1972.

"I felt that I met a unique personality, a person that on the one hand lives in the world of the Torah but has got practical sense to the realities of life everywhere in the world and great sensitivity for the preservation of the Jewish people."

On July 17, 1977, Prime Minister Begin went to seek the Rebbe's blessings before going to meet with President Carter at the Camp David peace talks with Egypt. This short film details Begin's historic visit with the Rebbe, and is comprised of beautiful and rare archival footage, audio and photos.

"The Rebbe is a great man in Israel, all of us respect him, all of us accept his judgement, he is a great lover of the House of Israel. He has shown his deep sentiment and love for our children. His blessings are very important to me."

The Rav, Rabbi Joseph Soloveichik, and the Rebbe

Rabbi Herschel Schacter, a prominent student of the Rav, Rabbi Yosef Ber Soloveitchik, retells his moving experience of visiting the Rebbe at a Farbrengen, together with the Rav, on the 10th of Shevat, 1980.

Rabbi Sholom Ber Kovalsky, a prominent friend of Rabbi Yosef Ber Soloveitchik, retells stories he heard from the Rav about the times the Rav and the Rebbe spent together in Berlin.

"[Rabbi Soloveichik related:] We were all together in Berlin...you don't find another memory like the Rebbe has...the Rebbe always walked with a Talmud and anytime there was a discussion in the class the Rebbe looked into the Talmud...."
